Crowcery
Turn a grocery receipt into clean, categorised data in seconds.
Snap a photo of any grocery receipt. Crowcery reads every line item: products,
prices, quantities, discounts, deposits and tax codes, then sorts your spending by item,
category and store, tracks price history, and flags your recurring buys.
New here? You will need the Android app to create an account. Once you have signed
in once, you can open Crowcery in any browser.
What you get
- Itemised, not just totals. Every line on the receipt becomes
structured data you can search, sort and total, down to the deposit on a case of water.
- Tuned for Canadian grocers. The Loblaws family (Superstore, No Frills,
Zehrs, Valu-mart, Atlantic Superstore), plus Costco, Sobeys, Walmart and Dollarama, each with a
grammar built for how that chain prints its receipts. A generic reader handles the rest.
- Spending that adds up over time. Totals by category and store, price
history per product across chains, and badges for recurring buys and price drift.
- Private by design. Personal details on the receipt are redacted, and
your original photo is deleted within 7 days. Only the structured data we extracted stays.
How it works
- Take a photo of the receipt (or pick one from your gallery).
- Crowcery reads it and turns it into line items in a few seconds.
- Review the breakdown, and watch your spending build up over time.
Curious about the machinery? Read how it's built,
the pipeline, the parser, and why it is put together this way.
Where to get it
Coming soon. Crowcery is an Android app, currently in a closed test. A public
release on Google Play is on the way. Want in early? Reach out and we will add you to the test.
